Italy: Leadership in the Workplace

In Italy, both Rome and Florence, students will explore leadership styles and how they apply to the modern workforce. Students participating in the "Italy: Leadership in the Workplace" program will also study the Renaissance and how it impacts today's world. The portion of the course that takes place in Italy will examine how leaders throughout Roman and Italian history used different types of leadership to build the Roman Empire and spread the Renaissance ideals. Reflection on personal values and strengths will create a transformative experience for all who participate.

Belize: Service Learning 2019

This cross-generational program partners with faith-based educators in two Belize locations and a group from First Lutheran Church in Brookings to serve the educational needs of K-12 school children and communities. Past projects included assisting/teaching the students in the classroom and after-school programs, improving school buildings, working on the school farm. and other projects. In 2019 we will add a focus on exploring biodiversity with local guides in various settings.

USA: Art and Art History in New York City

This course offers you the opportunity to learn about art and art history by touring New York City's most significant art museums and observing the workings of the contemporary art world. The course will also include a significant classroom component on campus to prepare you and to contextualize the art and institutions we will see and visit. This course counts toward the art history requirements for studio art majors.
